Credentialing is essential for a Student Assistance Program (SAP) to operate effectively and with credibility. There are two primary pathways for SAP professionals to obtain certification in Vermont:
The Vermont Office of Professional Regulation offers licensure as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC) or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
Prevention Works Vermont provides certification as a Prevention Specialist or Associate Prevention Specialist.
